AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Hamas Movement on Tuesday released a strongly worded statement on the ongoing Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip and the UN position in this regard following the meeting it held with leaders of the Palestinian resistance factions.
In its statement, the Hamas leadership led by Yehya as-Sinwar warned the Israeli occupation state and its allies of any delay in ending the blockade on Gaza and honoring what had been agreed upon in this regard or any attempt to impede the reconstruction process.
“Our great people and resistance will not remain silent at all and the enemy will see that we are ready for all options and will resist it with all means we have,” Hamas underlined.
“The enemy will not succeed in its extortion and arm-twisting policy, and we will not condone any attempt to pressure our people or mixing the files together,” Hamas said, adding that “the prisoners are in exchange for prisoners.”
Its statement also strongly denounced the UN for its connivance with the Israeli occupation through keeping it off its list of shame and criticized the supportive position of its peace envoy towards Israel.
“The United Nation is an international political and humanitarian organization responsible for achieving peace and helping peoples who are in particular under occupation and not colluding with and supporting an occupying power against a defenseless people who are subjected to various forms of extortion and siege.” Hamas highlighted.
The statement called on the UN secretary-general to stand by the Palestinian people, enforce dozens of international resolutions that were issued in their favor, and work on obligating Israel, as an occupying power, to abide by the international law.
