Iran blames US for global negative impacts on humans' health

Iranian Ambassador and Permanent Representative to Vienna-Based International Organization Kazzem Qaribabadi said that the US cut of the World Health Organization funds has negative impacts on humanity and the whole world.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iranian Ambassador and Permanent Representative to Vienna-Based International Organization Kazzem Qaribabadi said that the US cut of the World Health Organization funds has negative impacts on humanity and the whole world.

Qaribabadi voiced Iran's regret over the US unilateral sanctions, the budget cuts of international organizations, and its devastating consequences of the global fight against COVID-19.

He called for collective efforts of the world community to achieve a more inclusive, sustainable, and flexible economic recovery.

"Such actions should be condemned because they have a negative impact on humanity and the whole world," Qaribabadi added.

US President Donald Trump last month accused the World Health Organization of failing to act independently against China, threatening to cancel US membership in the global body.

In a letter to the head of the World Health Organization, he also threatened that his country might cut off funding to the international body altogether.
