Iran's President: Cooperation, friendship among countries only way for regional security

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Referring to the difficult conditions in the world due to the outbreak of coronavirus, the president said, "We hope that these difficult conditions make some realise that they need to reconsider their mistakes and base their actions on human interactions."

In a telephone conversation with the Emir of Kuwait on Monday, Dr Hassan Rouhani emphasised cooperation of regional countries in the fight against coronavirus, and added, "The Islamic Republic has gained good experiences in this field and is ready to transfer its experiences to friendly countries, including Kuwait".

Dr Rouhani also appreciated the efforts of the Emir of Kuwait for stable conditions in the region, and said, "I emphasise that there is no way to ensure security and stability in the region except through cooperation and friendship among the countries of the region itself".

"We are ready to work together to ensure security and stability in the region and the world, as well as to fight coronavirus in today's critical conditions," he said, adding, "We expect our friend, Kuwait, to take stands towards regional issues and also the United States' improper behaviour".

Dr Rouhani described the relations between Iran and Kuwait brotherly and friendly and added, "We are interested in these relations to be more cordial and friendly and we are ready to develop cooperation".

The President also congratulated the government and people of Kuwait on the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan in advance.

In the telephone conversation, the Emir of Kuwait said that we are brothers and we should be together, adding, "Today, we are all in a difficult situation and in order to overcome this situation, we must cooperate with each other and develop our communication".

Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Jaber Al-Sabah welcomed the initiative presented by Iran to provide security in the region called the "Hormuz Peace Endeavour" and said, "Kuwait's positions have always been for peace and we hope some of our friends and brothers in the region will behave wisely".

Appreciating Iran's behaviour and taking logical positions on important regional and international issues, the Emir of Kuwait welcomed Iran's readiness to transfer its experience in combatting coronavirus to his country and emphasised the development and deepening of relations in all fields".

Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah also congratulated the government and people of Iran on the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan in advance.
