Al-Abbas Shrine announces number of visitors participating in revival of Ziyarat Arbaeen
The Secretariat General of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine announced this afternoon of the 20th Safar 1446 AH, corresponding to August 25, 2024, in an official statement, that the number of the visitors during the Arba'een of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) of this year 1446 AH, since the 7th Safar to noon of the 20th Safar, has reached 21.480.525 visitors.

Thousands of Shia Muslim mourners participated in the central procession on 26 August 2024, marking the day of Arbaeen commemoration in India's city of Muzaffarpur in the northern province of Bihar. The mourning procession had been taken out with great reverence and fervour from the predominantly Shia neighbourhood of Mohalla Kamra of Chandwara area and carried out through the main thoroughfare of the city comprising Banaras Bank Chowk, Gola Road, Saraiyya Ganj, Clock Tower, Company Bagh before culminating in Badi Karbala.
