Forty days after Israeli withdrawal, bodies still being recovered from mass graves in Al-Shifa hospital

The General Directorate of Civil Defense in Gaza announced the continued discovery of bodies of martyrs buried by the Israeli occupation forces in mass graves in Al-Shifa Medical Complex, despite the passage of forty days since the withdrawal of those forces from the hospital.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The General Directorate of Civil Defense in Gaza announced the continued discovery of bodies of martyrs buried by the Israeli occupation forces in mass graves in Al-Shifa Medical Complex, despite the passage of forty days since the withdrawal of those forces from the hospital.

The spokesperson for the General Directorate, Major Mahmoud Saber, said that the civil defense and medical teams are still recovering the bodies of martyrs buried by the occupation forces in mass graves, after committing heinous killings during their invasion of the Al-Shifa complex, where they stayed for fifteen days.

He emphasized that the suffering of the civil defense crews continues in the Gaza Strip, as they continue to rebuild their capabilities, which were destroyed by the Israeli occupation army, adding, “For months, we have been working with very simple means and tools, which exhausts us greatly in terms of effort and time.”

The spokesperson renewed an appeal to the international community to give more attention to the humanitarian service providers in Gaza, demanding the urgent intervention of the United Nations and all humanitarian institutions to provide rescue equipment in order to continue the work of retrieving the remaining missing persons under the rubble.

Saber also called for the provision of the necessary fuel to operate the remaining civil defense vehicles and rescue equipment used in the operations to recover the bodies of martyrs from under the rubble of destroyed houses and buildings, noting that the Israeli occupation army has destroyed about 80% of the capabilities of the civil defense.
