AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Realizing knowledge-based pilgrimage and promoting Imam Reza’s lifestyle are main goals of Imam Reza holy shrine in upcoming Nowruz or New Year holidays, says Malek Rahmati, deputy custodian of the holy shrine, adding, Mashhad and the shrine may host over eight million pilgrims in the period.
Addressing the press on performance of the organization and its programs for the Persian new year, Rahmati said: “Imam Reza holy shrine has provisioned precise and smart programs for arriving pilgrims in the Persian New Year”.
He said: “The most important services to be rendered will happen in three dimensions of training best servant for pilgrims of Imam Reza (AS), offering best possible services in different areas, and hosting most number of Iranian and foreign pilgrims”.
Rahmati added: “With respect to widespread vaccination throughout the country and observance of health protocols by the people, it is possible for the people of Iran and foreign countries to travel to Mashhad this year. Studies estimate that over eigt million lovers of Imam Reza (AS) will travel to Mashhad in Nowruz”.
To that end, he said, the national working group of pilgrimage was held in the presence of President Raeisi last December, during which, required coordination and national convergence were formed to welcome New Year pilgrims.
Rahmati went on to say: “The meeting had great enactments for facilitation and acceleration of pilgrimage and the working group of pilgrimage was upgraded to a supreme council”.
He also mentioned: “In addition to all these, we have had many sessions in presence of custodian of the holy shrine and a number of officials to plan special programs for Nowruz”.
Deputy custodian of Imam Reza holy shrine further noted: “The holy shrine has scheduled over 175 special programs for Nowruz holidays and affiliated departments and bodies will hold different cultural, spiritual, and religious programs on the occasion of Iranian New Year”.
Concluding his remarks, Malek Rahmati said: “Proper accommodation of Nowruz pilgrims is a top priority according to which arrangements have been made for accommodating 350 thousand guests”.
