Announcing the number of passengers arriving in Iraq by air, the Iraqi Civil Aviation Organization announced the success of a program to receive Arbaeen pilgrims.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Announcing the number of passengers arriving in Iraq by air, the Iraqi Civil Aviation Organization announced the success of a program to receive Arbaeen pilgrims.

Jihad al-Diwan, a spokesman for the Iraqi Civil Aviation Organization, said, “The program to receive the Arbaeen pilgrims was a complete success and no security disruptions or unexpected incidents were observed in the process.”

“45,000 pilgrims entered Iraq from Baghdad airport and 46,000 from Najaf airport,” he added.

Earlier, Iraq had agreed to the arrival of 80,000 pilgrims, including 60,000 Iranian pilgrims, and made it conditional on their arrival by air. Later, due to heavy congestion at the border crossings with Iran, Iraq allowed limited entry of pilgrims by land, subject to visa and negative PCR.

Also, on Monday morning this week, the head of Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization announced that 80,000 pilgrims from Iran had left for Iraq to attend the Arbaeen ceremony.

It should be mentioned that in the last three days, 240 flights from different countries have landed in Najaf airport, and more than 35,000 security forces have been in charge of the security and security services of the pilgrims.
