AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iran's Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani-Fazli described Iran as the pivot of counter-terrorism activities in the region and said it is the only country which fights terrorism in practice while others suffice themselves with rhetoric and chanting the slogans about counterterrorism.
Enemies of Iran are putting lots of efforts to put pressure on Iranians and cause instability in the country, Rahmani-Fazli said while addressing a national conference attended by the Iranian police commanders on Sunday.
'We are witnessing the formation of popular forces across the region like the one we have in Iran which is called Basij forces, he said noting that this in itself stresses the fact other regional countries too are looking at Iran and the Islamic Revolution as a role model, the Interior Minister said.
He added that the Iranian nation should be proud of the efforts and sacrifices of the military and security forces in all circumstances.
The Minister further believed that the Iranian nation will not let anybody who dares to mess up with their affairs go unpunished.
