Syrian Army gains control of ISIS last pocket near strategic airbase in Aleppo

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - The final ISIS militants withdrew from the town of Al-Wadhah Al-Juneideh in east Aleppo, resulting in the complete collapse of the terrorist group’s pocket south of the strategic Jirah Airbase.

Led by the elite Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army took full control of Al-Wadhah Al-Jneideh, Monday, after a short battle with ISIS militants in the area.

While the two villages of Khan Al-Sha’er and Droubiyah Al-Saghirah have been abandoned by ISIS, the Syrian Arab Army has yet to enter them due to the presence of IEDs (improvised explosive device).

As a result of today’s advance, the Syrian Arab Army has full secured the Jirah Airbase and the Deir Hafer Plain of east Aleppo.
