(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan lashed out at Washington for creating, supporting and nurturing the terrorist groups, specially the ISIS, in the region.
"The entire world has today accepted that the ISIS Takfiri-terrorist groups are the biggest threat to regional and international security," General Dehqan said, addressing a forum in Tehran on Tuesday.
Noting that US President Donald Trump has admitted that the former US administration has founded the Takfiri terrorism, he lambasted Washington for raising terrorism allegations against Tehran which has fought against the terrorist groups with all its power and has been a victim of terrorism itself.
General Dehqan also referred to Israel's attempts to rally support for forming a coalition against Iran, and said such efforts will not dissuade Tehran from supporting the Palestinian cause and liberation of the holy Quds.
In relevant remarks in November, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani blasted the US, Israel and certain regional states for creating and assisting the terrorist groups in the region.
"Today, there is precise intelligence showing that the US and the Zionist regime are assisting with the creation and supporting the terrorist stream in the region, and the governments of certain regional states are also suffering this plague," Larijani said in Tehran.
The Iranian speaker said that turmoil and spread of terrorism in the region creates the best conditions for the Zionist regime to survive.
