(AhlulBayt News Agency) - A soldier was killed together with five others wounded in a bomb blast that has targeted an Army Commando patrol, east of Salahaddin, Al Sumaria News reported on Monday.
A source who spoke to Al Sumaria on Monday has said that an explosion has occurred this evening, while a patrol of Army Commando was passing the village of Zangil, eastern of Salahaddin, leading to the death of one soldier and wounding of five others, including an officer.
He added that the wounded military personnel have been transferred to a nearby hospital, whereas the dead body of the soldier whose name has not been announced was sent to a forensic medicine department.
Earlier the same day the Governor of the Salahaddin province called on the Iraqi Prime Minister, Haider al-Abadi to provide protection to the eastern areas of the province as the situation there appears to be still highly unstable.
