Syrian Army: Over 40 armed rebels killed in northern Hama

Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham’s offensive in northern Hama turned sour on Saturday when the Syrian Arab Army’s 33rd and 47th brigades of the 11th Tank Division repelled their assault on the strategic village of Al-Mughayr.

AhlulBayt News Agency - Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham’s offensive in northern Hama turned sour on Saturday when the Syrian Arab Army’s 33rd and 47th brigades of the 11th Tank Division repelled their assault on the strategic village of Al-Mughayr.

On Sunday, the Syrian Armed Forces were able to recapture all points that were lost to the extremist rebels, including the Grain Silos and the important hilltop of Tal Al-Sakhar, which are both located to the west of Al-Mughayr.

Following their victory in northern Hama, the Syrian Arab Army’s Central Command stated that over 40 enemy combatants from Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, Jaysh Al-Islam, and Jaysh Al-Nasr were killed during the battle.

If true, the rebel losses on Friday and Saturday – coupled with Jund Al-Aqsa’s losses earlier in the week – total over 150 fighters killed in 6 days.
