An emergency meeting staged by the Rabat-based ministerial liaison office of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is set to kick off Tuesday to discuss the latest tension in Occupied Jerusalem and the mounting Israeli attacks on holy al-Aqsa Mosque.
The meeting is being convened in response to a Palestinian appeal to outline a clear roadmap for the projected pro-Palestine moves aimed at defending Occupied Jerusalem against the systematic Judaization schemes and state vandalism implemented by the Israeli occupation.
A statement released by the Palestinian Foreign Ministry cited Morocco’s uneasiness with current Israeli attempts to impose a new fait accompli on the ground and wipe out the typically Islamic idiosyncrasy of Occupied Jerusalem along with ongoing malevolent endeavors to sever the very cord that links the holy city to its geo-political surroundings.
The meeting is expected to turn out well after a plan mapped by the Palestinian delegation had received the approbation of the OIC General Secretariat.
Other proposals and amendments will be discussed during the meeting as a means to smooth progress towards an urgent launch of the roadmap at the soonest time possible.
