Funeral prayers of Allama Ali Akbar Kumaili, son of renowned religious scholar Allama Abbas Kumaili, were offered at Shah-e-Khorasan Imambargah at Saddar area of Karachi amid tight on Sunday 7th Sept.
According to the details, the roads from Numaish Chowrangi and Boltan Market have been closed with the help of container blockades for security purposes.
Allama Ali Akbar Kumaili was gunned down by terrorists in Azizabad area on Saturday evening. He received at least three bullets and succumbed to injuries at Ziauddin Hospital.
Martyr Kumaili laid to rest at Ali Bagh graveyard near Cheel Chowk, Lyari.
Large number of people, religious scholars from both sects Shia and Sunni and political leaders were present in the funeral prayers.
According to the Mujlis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen’s (MWM) spokesperson, Ali Akbar was going home with his children from his ice factory located in Bhangoria Goth, Block-2 of Azizabad, when unidentified armed men, waiting for him near the factory, opened fire at them. Akbar was shot thrice – twice in his chest and once in his abdomen – and his guard Jumman Khan was shot twice. Both men were taken to the Ziauddin Hospital in critical condition but succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatmen
Majlis Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen (MWM) leader Allama Ameen Shaheedi condemned the killing of Allama Ali Akbar Kumaili and said that the country is heading towards a civil war. He said that terrorists should be wiped out by a military operation.
