The Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas declared during his visit to Moscow his readiness to resume talks with Israelis.
During his visit to the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Abbas renewed his commitment to achieve peace in the region and declared his readiness to resume negotiation with Israelis along the next nine months in case of the release of the fourth batch of Palestinian prisoners, Itar-Tass Russian News Agency revealed.
We seek to make peace and establish an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, he said.
The first three months will be devoted to deal with Israeli-Palestinian borders based on the pre-June 1967 border in case of Israeli commitment to stop settlement construction during that period, he explained.
Abbas has met on Wednesday Russian President Vladimir Putin where they both discussed the latest developments in occupied Palestine and the Middle East.
Putin, in his turn, said that his country looks forward to talks’ resumption.
