Extremist Jewish rabbi Yehuda Glick along with other settlers on Sunday morning desecrated the main courtyard of the Aqsa Mosque compound under police protection, according to SAFA news agency.
Director of the Aqsa Mosque Omar Kaswani reported that a horde of Jewish settlers spearheaded by Glick entered the Mosque through Al-Maghariba Gate under tight police protection and walked around in its courtyard before they left through Al-Silsila Gate.
Concurrently, about 65 Israeli intelligence operatives defiled the Mosque today morning, Kaswani added.
He also said that many students of the Aqsa Mosque's religious schools were present all over the courtyard when the Jewish settlers desecrated it and shouted protest and religious chants to fend them off.
The Israeli police provided protection for Glick and his followers despite the four-month ban they had issued last march on his entry to the Aqsa Mosque.
