(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Dr. Syed Hasan Kumaili, President of Idara Tafheem-e-Islam, said: “The US led West’s baseless accusations that Syrian government forces used chemical weapons were not new inventions. The warmongers are adept in inventing excuses to take military action against the countries where their interests did not suit”. He noted: the history is witnessed that from the illegal invasion of Afghanistan in 2001 till today there have been several military interventions by these warmongers and all were based on inventing baseless excuses and allegations. The indiscriminate slaughter of civilians, the killing of innocent women and children in Afghanistan and Iraq, was a moral obscenity. “But the world body, the UN was unable to take any action against these hegemonic powers. The impotency shown by the UN has proved that it is biased in the way to deal with these imperialists countries,” added Kumaili. The Muslim scholar further noted that it’s the moral responsibility of the UN to play pivotal role. Clip the wings of these belligerent nations and prove potency by taking constructive action against them. “Without that building peace across the globe in general and in the region in particular will not be possible,” he warned. Dr. Kumaili, who is also social activist and writer, while expressing solidarity with the victims of Syrian conflict, stressed that Syrian conflict was US-instigated and backed. Condemning the accusations, he maintained that it is contrary to the facts that Syrian government forces have used chemical weapons. “Once again presenting the wrong pretexts of chemical weapons, the US and its allies have embarked upon the dangerous course of preparing the ground for a war against Syria and Iran. This is because these countries (Syria & Iran) have sternly refused American dominance, always expressed anguish over increasing West’s hegemony in the region and have obstinately refused to come within the zone of influence of the US. Demanding from the Indian government and other Non-Aligned Nations to officially register their protests against any military incursion into Syria, the Indian scholar urged the UN not to allow any external interference in Syria. He was of the view that the solution of the Syria conflict has to come from within the Syrian society through peaceful means. “The UN and Non-Aligned nations should take a rational approach and should encourage broad national dialogues that reflect the legitimate aspirations of all sections of Syrian society and respect Syrian independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty, which is essential,” suggested Dr. Kumaili./149
