Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei warned the western states that the capitalist system is moving towards imminent demise, adding that the events and crises happening in Europe and the US are the results of the wrong policies of their leaders.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - "The reactions witnessed in Europe and, in another form, in the US are the biggest proof for the wrongness of the capitalist system's economic path," Ayatollah Khamenei said, addressing thousands of Iranian workers on the occasion of the 'Labors Day' in Tehran on Saturday.

"The current events in Europe and the US are just the beginning and the conditions will worsen even more since the capitalist economy is moving on a steep slope," he added.

Ayatollah Khamenei said in addition to economic problems, the western states are also entangled with moral and cultural problems which will accelerate their collapse.

In relevant remarks in May 2012, Ayatollah Khamenei said the developments in the West display that the world's arrogant powers are definitely on the verge of collapse.

"The front of oppression, arrogance and bullying is weakening and on the verge of demise despite its apparent hue and cry," Ayatollah Khamenei said, addressing a number of Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) cadets in Tehran at the time.

He meantime underlined that despite the arrogant powers' decline, "the pioneering Iranian nation continues its speedy move towards more progress and materialization of justice in the decade of progress and justice".
