Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khamenei on Wednesday issued a message of condolence over the demise of great teacher of ethics Ayatollah Azizollah Khoshvaght.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khamenei on Wednesday issued a message of condolence over the demise of great teacher of ethics Ayatollah Azizollah Khoshvaght.

Imam Khamenei in his message regarded the death of the eminent Aref (mystic) as a great loss for his students.

“'With deep sorrow and grief, I was informed of the demise of the divine cleric Ayatollah Khosvaght,” the Supreme Leader said in the message.

His Eminence expressed his condolences to the honorable family of the great scholar and those devoted to him.

Imam Khamenei wished Divine mercy and exaltation and eternal salvation for the pure spirit of Ayatollah Khoshvaght.

Prominent teacher of ethics Ayatollah Azizollah Khoshvaght passed away Wednesday morning in the holy city of Makkah.

The Tehran Seminary scholar had travelled to the Land of Revelation last month to perform Ummrah (minor Hajj) rituals.

He suffered from a respiratory condition and was hospitalized in Makkah on February 2.

After 17 days in hospital, the great scholar passed away this morning.

Born in 1926, Ayatollah Khoshvaght was one of the outstanding students of late Allameh Tabatabaee in ethics and Irfan (mysticism).

Ayatollah Khoshvaght was a Mujtahid and led prayers at Imam Hassan Mojtaba (AS) Mosque in Tehran for years.
