The Syrian army reinforced its military presence in Idlib province after repelling several terrorist attacks on an army checkpoint in the area, killing tens of terrorists and injuring many others in the fifth day of heavy clashes with armed rebels in Syria's Northern province on Sunday.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The army and terrorists continued their clashes for the fifth day around Neyrab garrison and Ariha-Saraqeb road in Idlib province today.

The Syrian army could eventually strengthen its positions in Idlib province, but only after it repelled several rebel attacks on its positions, which led to the killing of 13 terrorists and injuring of 13 others in the province today.

Meantime, the army conducted massive operations in Eastern Ghouteh in Haran al-Awamid near Damascus International Airport today.

Terrorists have tried hard in the last few months to make Syrian cities unsafe, specially for citizens, but the army has purged them from most neighborhoods and districts, killed hundreds of them and arrested many more.

Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011 with organized attacks by well-armed gangs against Syrian police forces and border guards being reported across the country.

Hundreds of people, including members of the security forces, have been killed, when some protest rallies turned into armed clashes.

The government blames outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorist groups for the deaths, stressing that the unrest is being orchestrated from abroad.
