Turkey: Thousands of Shias protest in Zeynebiye in support for Quran insulted by American soldiers / Photos

This protest was organized in Zeynebiye Street after the afternoon prayer and the crowd chanted slogans like: the Islamic Ummah doesn’t accept humiliation, Down with USA, Down with Israel, Islamic Ummah defend Quran, we will sacrifice thousands of lives for the Quran, Shias and Sunnis are brothers and those who discriminate them are treacherous.In this protest which about 2000 people had participated, the leader of Turkish Shias, Selahattin Ozgunduz gave a speech and said: “those imperialist powers who insult Islam and the Quran want to measure the tolerance of the Ummah and the Turkish Parliament should set up an inquiry commission and the outcome should be publicized.”Ozgunduz continued his speech which was interrupted by Takbirs and slogans saying that “Quran challenges its enemies and the World. You can’t stand against the Quran by tearing or burning it. It only shows your fanaticism and ignorance. Quran says that bring something similar if you can, we will collect the whole ourselves. You cannot destroy Quran by tearing or burning it. There are millions of copies of Quran and millions of those who have memorized Quran. By doing these things you can only show your enmity with Islamic Ummah.I think they are trying to measure the tolerance, sensitivity and sensibility of the Islamic Ummah. Those who bomb Afghanistan, Iraq and other places in the world and kill millions of innocent people are trying to see if they can limit the submission of the Islamic Ummah or not.And beside that they are trying to understand if their puppets will show their loyalty towards them or not and if the Islamic countries that have relied on the help of the USA will show their veracity or not.Not for the throne of a country, even if you give the control of the whole world The Islamic Ummah will not undermine even a word of the Quran. I am telling you the feeling of the 3 million Shias of Turkey and 300 million Shias around the world that we will sacrifice our life, our wealth and our religion for the Quran.The Quran is superior to everything in our life. Our school of thought is an interpretation of the Quran and we are into our school of thought to a degree that it reflects the Quran. So nobody should measure our patience, tolerance and sensitivity. If you touch the Quran we will rise up.We are the Servants of Imam Ali (as) and we are the lovers of Ahlul Beyt and we as the Turkish nation have Imam Ali’s characteristic and you should know that if we rise up you will be frightened and you will tremble. So do not approach our holy things.There is just a consolation to this event; we say that we have a one line Surah in the Quran. Just bring a Surah like that if you can and then we will remove all the Qurans. You have spent billions of dollars, you have gathered together but you couldn’t make such a book. Your inability in confrontation with Quran has violated you and made you aggressive. But you should know that the light of Islam will eradicate your darkness.Whatever the Quran tells has come true so far; there is a promise to us, this Holy Book is the light of Allah and you cannot put off this light by insufflating. This light will illuminate the whole world even if you die.You try to introduce the rules of Islam in a bad way but the Quran will enlighten humanity. Now for occupying Somalia and Mali you get benefit from the al-Qaeda terrorists and you make up an excuse. At the same time you fight them in Afghanistan, there you seem to be fighting with them, but in Iraq, Syria, you are with them, and everyone can see that.Despite your behavior, despite those who insult the Quran and those who do not understand it well, the Quran will enlighten the world and the victory will be with Quran.I hope God will help us to hold fast to the Quran, to read it constantly and to obey it.I am calling my gentle nation that if you keep quiet now and say nothing tomorrow they will get all your holy things.
