(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Head of a visiting Pakistani delegation to Iran on Thursday said that Iran and Pakistan have been brother countries for very long time while expressing hope that the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) will help build more trust between both nations.
Arif Aziz Sheikh made the remarks among parliamentarians of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
Aziz Sheikh said that there has been mutual regard and mutual respect throughout the cooperation between Iran and Pakistan.
Expressing his views on the meeting of ECO parliamentarians, he said that objective of the moot is to build a new economic block consisting of brother Muslim countries.
'Of course I am satisfied with the outcome of the meeting,' he said to a question.
'We have the membership of 10 countries unfortunately three countries could not come, but we do have delegates from seven countries,' he added.
Aziz Sheikh went on to say that the purpose of the meeting is bringing these countries together both economically and politically.
He was of the opinion that Iran is a very important country in the region and cannot be overlooked.
Aziz Sheikh said that Non-Aligned Movement has been going on for a very long time. 'The NAM has different agenda and working, we are here working in a different agenda and Iran is very important part of this equation, I think Iran has lot to contribute and to give a lot of experience to other countries,' said the Pakistani lawmaker.
