(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Wednesday held talks with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on international issues.
According to Institute for Publishing Supreme Leader's works, Ayatollah Khamenei reviewed international issues with Indian prime minister.
Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday that the situation is ripe for the expansion of ties between Iran and India in all areas, particularly in regard to trade and the development of infrastructure.
The Leader made the remarks during a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who visited Iran to attend the 16th Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement.
Ayatollah Khamenei said Iran and India should enhance cooperation on regional issues, the Tehran Times reported.
Iran has always had a positive view of India, the Leader said, adding that the two countries can enhance their cooperation on regional issues.
For his part, Singh stated that India is opposed to foreign interference in Syria’s internal affairs and calls for a Syrian-Syrian solution to the crisis.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is in Tehran to attend Summit of Leaders of Non-Aligned Movement, a major world body seeking a part in governance of the international community.
