Iran on Tuesday assumed the rotating presidency of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) foreign ministers as the NAM ministers officially started a two-day meeting here in Tehran this morning.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi assumed the presidency of the movement from Egypt's Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs and International Cooperation Ramzy Ezzeldin Ramzy.

NAM foreign ministers will draft a final document for the 16th NAM heads-of-state summit slated for August 30-31.

Many analysts say that the diplomatic spotlight gives Tehran an opportunity to show Washington has failed to cut it off from the rest of the world.

Around 110 are present at attending the conference and more than 45 states will send their top officials to the heads-of-state summit this week.
