Head of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization said representatives of 65 Muslim and non-Muslim countries will take part in the 29th edition of Iran’s International Holy Quran Competition.

TEHRAN, Iran (Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Head of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization said representatives of 65 Muslim and non-Muslim countries will take part in the 29th edition of Iran’s International Holy Quran Competition.Speaking in a press conference in Tehran on Monday, June 11, Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Mohammadi added that the contestants in this edition will be from 5 continents of the world.Head of the Islamci Republic of Iran’s Supreme Committee for Quran Competitions noted that the contest will begin on Monday, June 18, concurrent with the Feast of Mab’ath (call to prophethood).He said the jury panel of the contest has 14 members, 5 of whom are Iranian and the rest are from other countries.A Quran memorizer from Isfahan province and a Quran reciter from Khuzestan province will represent Iran in the memorization and recitation categories of the international event, he added.Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammadi further said a congress for honoring female Quran activists and a Quranic research conference are scheduled to be held on the sidelines of the competition on June 20 and 21, respectively.He noted that 550 papers have been submitted to the secretariat of the Quranic research conference, including 500 by Iranian researchers.Head of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization went on to say that holding the categories of recitation and memorization simultaneously and organizing the Quranic research conference are the disngusihing characteristics of Iran’s International holy Quran Competition.The international event will be held in Tehran from June 18 until June 23 in Tehran. /129
