Hizbullah Secretary General Deputy His Eminence Sheikh Naim Qassem said Wednesday that former Prime Minister Saad Hariri was not the exclusive representative of the Sunni sect in Lebanon.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Qassem described the Sunni sect as a sect of resistance, which “is not represented by those who serve the U.S.-Israeli project,” according to a statement issued by the party.

“[Hariri] is not the exclusive representative [of the Sunni sect] and the sect does not bear responsibility for his choices,” Qassem said, during the opening of the an international conference on religious thought.

"[We totally support Palestinians' rights in Lebanon], unlike the nationalization process which we all reject," he said.

Qassem considered that US and "Israeli" pressure are the reason behind the failure of the Palestinian reconciliation. He pointed out the importance of firmly holding onto the choice of resistance.
