Interim prayer leader of Sanandaj criticized sacrilege of holy Qur'an calling the measure an offence towards all Muslims.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - prayer leader of Sanandaj criticized sacrilege of holy Qur'an calling the measure an offence towards all Muslims.

Mamusta Amin Rasti, Sunni prayer leader of Sanandaj in the Iranian Kurdistan Province referred to the sacrilege of holy book of Islam by the US forces in Afghanistan and called that an unforgivable act since it was disrespect to the character of all Muslims.

This Sunni cleric in an exclusive interview with us said, "Throughout the history of Islam, enemies have always used various plots to present Muslims as a miserable nation."

He said Muslims from any denominations are equal because their main aim is Islam, adding that, "To achieve the aim, they desecrate Islamic sanctities particularly the character of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and precious verses of holy Qur'an."

"Muslims have to know that unity and solidarity are the only ways to confront the plots of the enemies," said the Sunni cleric.

"Any damage to these two principles would be an inexpiable damage to the Islamic community," he added.

He said the enemies would not find peace before they dominate Muslims and undergo their religious beliefs.

He hailed the efforts of the people in Kurdistan and said, "Muslim people of Kurdistan have always been ready to defend Islamic values and Qur'anic teachings to the last breathe."

US forces in an airbase in the north of capital Kabul burnt copies of Qur'an and Islamic texts, an act which has raged Muslims from different denominations to voice their anger against the sacrilege.
