(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - In a meeting with Iraqi Transportation Minister Hadi Farhan al-Amiri, he referred to the current situation in the region and said that collapse of the dictator Saddam Hossein and exit of the occupiers from the Arab state provided suitable opportunity for the country’s progress.
Saeedlou, who heads Iran-Iraq Development Headquarters added that fortunately, Iraq has taken excellent measures to forge unity with its neighboring states.
Referring to great capacities of the two countries for maximizing bilateral ties, he proposed to make optimum use of the opportunities.
Their capacities are such that that they can take steps in line with regional development, he noted, adding the agreements signed by them should be implemented at the earliest.
Al-Amiri, for his part, said that there are numerous opportunities for joint activities but they have not been used properly.
He also underlined development of cooperation in the field of transportation and facilitating the transmit of passengers, pilgrims in particular.
