(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - According to police sources, an FIR (1/12) was lodged against ASWJ chief and three others under Sections 102, 324, 109 and 7 ATA of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) by Gulshan-e-Iqbal police station at Artillery Maidan remit on early Monday after 10-hour-long protest held by Shia community against Raza’s murder on Sunday night.
SHO Gulshan Dost Muhammad said that the authority had accepted all demands of protesters and a case was registered as per their demands.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)’s Faisal Raza Abidi, Shehla Raza and others were among the protesters.
DIG South Commander Shaukat said the orders of judicial inquiry had also been issued and an application in this regard would soon be moved to the Sindh High Court. He said that SSP Aslam was automatically suspended since he came under investigation.
He said SSP Aslam was 19-grade officer and the IG Sindh could not suspend him. Moreover, he said relevant authority would issue his suspension letter shortly. Later Raza was buried in Wadi Hussain graveyard.
Meanwhile, ASWJ spokesman Taj Hanfi termed the decision as conspiracy against ASWJ and said that ASWJ would announce its course of action after emergency meeting to be convened on late Monday.
Needless to mention, thousands of Shia protestors converted their protest march into a sit-in outside the Governor House. They staged the sit-in on Sunday night with the body of Raza to record their protest against his killing.
The protesters were demanding lodging of an FIR against the killers and taking prompt action against Chaudhry Aslam, SSP of the Crime Investigation Department’s Anti-Extremist Cell, who is what they said is involved in killing of Raza.
It is pertinent to mention here that Raza was killed and his companion injured in an assault on Rashid Minhas Road within the limits of Gulshan-e-Iqbal police station here on Saturday evening. The deceased was the chairman of Legal Aid Committee of Millat-e-Jafferia.
Maulana Nazir Naqvi and Maulana Yousuf Hussain Mirza led the procession, while various Shia leaders delivered their speeches.
Shia leaders said Raza was working for the release of innocent Shia people from the detention of the AEC. They alleged that Raza was receiving threats from SSP Khan and his colleagues.
