Senior Shia cleric: Denomination proximity confab to be held in Mecca

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - “The Conference of ‘Denomination proximity and Islamic Awakening’ will be held in Mecca late of October,” head of the world Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri said. “The more we work in the realm of proximity and unity among Muslims, the more we can provide the ground for expanding the Islamic Awakening in the world,” the grand Ayatollah said. The senior cleric added,” this meeting of ‘Denomination proximity and Islamic Awakening’ will be held on October 30.” “The main Islamic duty of Muslims is the issue of unity,” said the grand Ayatollah, stating that if Muslims got united, they would stand against the enemies of Islam. “Via proximity and unity, Muslims are able to foil the plots and machination hatched by the enemies,” head of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought underscored. “Another important point is that without proximity, Muslims are not able to accomplish the goals set in the holy Quran and Islamic books,” Ayatollah Taskhiri expressed. “The issue of proximity is prelude to unity and the issue of unity is the main goal and responsibility in Islam,” the grand Ayatollah underlined.  /129
