Grand Iranian Shia cleric, Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi, slammed Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s speech in the 66 th United Nations General Assembly at U.N. Conference.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi on Wednesday criticized the stance that Turkey has recently adopted toward regional developments and said, “Turkey is stabbing Muslims on the back.”“Turkish authorities claim that they do not have any amicable relation with the regime of Israel but their actions do corroborate such claim,” said the grand Ayatollah. Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi urged Muslims to show their reaction to the speech delivered by Erdogan in the UN conference and said,” Why does Turkey support Israel and why Muslims are all silent and do not slam such policy?” The ayatollah added that Turkish officials are pursuing policies adopted by the United States and Saudi Arabia and are seeking to drag Syria into a civil war. It is worth to mention that during his tirade, Erdogan attacked Israel and Syria and condemned the two countries for the policy they chose. He underlined that Turkis people do not have any problem with Israeli people and the only problem is the regime of Israel and its politicians. The silver point is that he did not even mention the name of Israel’s supporter, the U.S in his speech and underscored that their only problems is with the regime of Zionism. Turkish Prime Minister did not mention anything about the massacres and crimes perpetrated by the U.S in Iraq, Afghanistan and etc. He also did not announce the support of Turkey from the innocent people of Palestine./129
