(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Hamas welcomed Turkey’s decision to lower diplomatic representation with Israel and to freeze military agreements with it.
It said in a statement on Friday that the decision was a “step in the right direction” in response to Israel’s arrogance and assault on the Freedom Flotilla and the international and Turkish solidarity activists, who were victims of the Israeli act of piracy at international waters.
Hamas declared solidarity with Turkey especially relatives of the victims who sacrificed themselves for the sake of supporting the Palestine cause and breaking the siege on Gaza. It also backed the Turkish effort to prosecute Israeli war criminals at international courts.
The movement called on the Arab and Islamic countries and free people of the world to boycott Israel and to work for ending the blockade on Gaza and to extend more assistance to the Palestinian people to enable them restore their freedom, national rights and establish their independent state.
