(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Leading Iraqi Shia Cleric, Muqtada al-Sadr, has expressed readiness to “protect mosques, in the event of the government’s failure to do that,” in the aftermath of the explosion that ripped off Baghdad’s Sunni Um al-Qura Mosque last Sunday and caused dozens of victims.

“Sayid Muqtada al-Sadr had expressed readiness to project all Mosques, if the government expressed failure to do that,” his al-Sadr Trend had confirmed in a statement on Thursday.

Noteworthy is that a suicide explosion had rippled off through Um al-Qura Mosque last Thursday, killing and wounding dozens of people, including the Legislature, Khalid al-Fahdawi, who was killed in the attack.
