Chairman of Pakistani Parliamentary Committee on Tuesday said that liberation of Al-Quds is the responsibility of all Muslims around the world.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Chairman of Pakistani Parliamentary Committee on Tuesday said that liberation of Al-Quds is the responsibility of all Muslims around the world.

Maulana Mohammad Saleh Shah Qurashi, Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Religious Affairs with a reference to International Day of Al-Quds, said that the day is significant for all the Muslim countries due to its noble cause.

“This is a day of solidarity with the oppressed Palestinians and all oppressed people in general,” he said.

International Day of Al-Quds, is an annual event opposing Israel's control of Jerusalem. Anti-Zionist demonstrations are held on this day in Muslim countries and around the world, but especially in Iran where the occasion was first suggested.

Father of Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini inaugurated Al-Quds day as an integral part of Ramadan so that Muslims would never forget their responsibility and duty towards Palestine and all oppressed people in the world.

It is held each year on the last Friday of Ramadan.

Maulana Mohammad Saleh Shah Qurashi said that the Father of Islamic Revolution took a wise decision after he had announced to observe Al-Quds Day to strongly oppose Israel’s control of Jerusalem.

The religious leader was of the view that Al -Quds Day is a nice tradition, which keeps the scattered Muslim Ummah united. He added that Al-Aqsa is the second most holy place for the Muslims around the world.

The Senator strongly condemned the atrocities of the Zionist regime against the oppressed Palestinian people. He added that Israel is an illegitimate regime and involved in a huge atrocities against the innocent people of Palestine.

The law maker said that independent Palestinian state is legitimate right of the people of Palestine denied by the Israel.

Maulana Mohammad Saleh Shah Qurashi urged Muslims around the world to observe International Day of Al-Quds to support the legitimate rights of Muslims of Palestine.

He was of the view that it is obligatory on Muslim Ummah to work towards freedom and excess to Al-Quds. He stressed the need for practical efforts to get back the control of Al-Quds from Israel

He called upon the Muslims to keep united to oppose Israeli aggression on Palestinians.

'Muslims of Palestine should be given equal rights,' he demanded.
