(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Medvedev addressed all leaders, especially Arab rulers, to have their country undergo timely reforms to avoid unrest in the country.
The Russian President referred to the revolutions taking place in the Middle East and North Africa, saying they "are of a historic character and can pave the way for transformations similar to those taking place in Central Europe after the fall of the Berlin Wall".
"Events in the Arab word once against proved [...] that socioeconomic reforms, reforms that would take into account the interests of the widest majority of the population, must be carried out in due time", President Dmitry Medvedev addressed Foreign Ambassadors in the Kremlin.
Medvedev's remarks were heard after the Group of Eight leaders adopted a declaration on the Arab Spring, comparing it also to the fall of the Berlin wall.
When the Tunisian "Jasmine" revolt was launched to pave the way for the following revolutions, Medvedev described it as a "lesson" to all the government "that do not meet the aspirations of the people".
Russia on another hand strictly condemned the West's treatment of the Libya conflict, and still criticized the NATO-led attack campaign, under the pretext of targeting Libyan ruler Muammar Gaddafi, while killing dozens of innocent civilians.
