Hamas strongly condemned the Israelis, calls for urgent moves to save ancient Islamic cemetery

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Hamas strongly condemned the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) on Sunday for its continued destruction of the ancient Islamic Mamanullah cemetery west of Jerusalem.It said in a press release that the IOA was trying to wipe out the cemetery’s Islamic history through building on its ruins museums and other settlement projects, describing the IOA act as “racist” and a blatant violation of heavenly religions and international norms.The IOA destruction of about one hundred graves overnight Saturday points to its “malicious and treacherous” nature, Hamas said, adding that the act also reflected the criminal nature of that “entity”, which is based on theft and criminality against the living and the dead.The holy city of Jerusalem, its inhabitants, holy shrines, and landmarks would remain a thorn in the way of the “usurping enemy”, the statement said, adding that the Palestinian people’s steadfastness and defense of national rights and holy place would not be weakened by such practices.Hamas called on the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Conference, and all human rights groups to immediately act to rescue the Mamanullah cemetery from such atrocious practices./ 129
