Press TV: This case has drawn a lot of opposition not only locally, but internationally as well such as opposition from Amnesty International, but what good is that when there is not anything being done not only to this piece of news regarding this poet, but also of the military tribunals being held which are deemed illegal under international law?
Rodney Shakespeare: This is a huge punishment for a young girl for what was a non-existent offense. It actually shows you the insecurity of the thugs and murderers who rule in Bahrain.
They have been completely shaken by the international response over the attempt to hold the F1 motor race and they are now cracking down on anything in a panic. And of course it's utterly shameful that the idiots in the UK foreign office are supporting these thugs, these murders and these torturers.
The hypocrisy still goes on from the US talking about negotiations. You cannot negotiate with those you have killed; with those you have tortured; that have no say in equal rights and those whose religion you try to destroy. So it's a shocking disgraceful situation. However, there is hope and the international community must continue to fight, must continue to protest and we will get the message across that Bahrain is now the most corrupt and vicious spot on this planet.
Press TV: Bahrain is supposedly a signatory of the Human Rights Charter. I think the most severe condemnation so far would be from the Human Rights chief Navi Pillay, but given what has happened, and at this point we're talking of at least four months since the crackdown began -- is there going to be any action taken or any possibility of action to be taken by the UN on Bahrain?
Rodney Shakespeare: There will only be action if the public acts in a critical way. This is crucial because Bahrain is the centre of a network of international corruption all ultimately aimed at supporting a Zionist Israel and its estimated 200 atomic bombs.
The UN can be the means through which we put the pressure on, but at the moment the UN and its key organizations are controlled by the US, which bullies and browbeats individuals and governments throughout the world and blackmails them -- this is their basic technique.
We cannot hold up too much hope unless we ourselves keep the pressure up as we succeeded with stopping the F1 motor race. And we must get home the message to the rulers in Bahrain that there economy is down the tubes, they are despised universally -- they won't dare ever go shopping in London or Paris again and they won't dare send their children to schools in the USA, the UK or in France.
They are outlaws now; they are pariahs; and we're going to get the message out on an increasing scale -- they have no future with decent people in this world. Anybody who wants to have anything to do with Bahrain had better wake up to the fact that they are scum as well.
