(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay, denies telling Bahrain officials her office received "misinformation" about Bahrain's crackdown on anti-government protesters.
Her spokesman, Rupert Colville, says that Pillay "made no such statement and is disturbed by this blatant distortion of her words." Colville said Tuesday that Pillay will formally request government officials who attended the meeting to issue a correction.
After months of unrest in Bahrain, the disputed reports were carried by the nation's official news agency and picked up by other media outlets in the region.
