(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Lebanese Hezbollah Secretary-General Seyed Hassan Nasrallah underlined strong popular support for the Islamic establishment in Iran, and lashed out at West's efforts to distort realities about Iran.
"The West is trying to portray Iran as an oppressive regime," Nasrallah said.
Nasrallah made the remarks in Beirut on Wednesday during a ceremony organized by the Iranian Embassy in Lebanon on the occasion of the 22nd demise anniversary of the late Founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini.
Imam Khomeini passed away on June 3, 1989, ten years after leading the Islamic Revolution that put an end to the Pahlavi regime in 1979.
Nasrallah further underscored that Iran is always prepared to face new challenges.
Nasrallah added that Imam Khomeini had a comprehensive viewpoint on system and his revolution was shaped up along with and on people's will.
"The Imam led a perfect revolution all the way to full victory and the reason why his revolution is standing firm in confrontation with the entire threats and pressure till today is that it is based on the people's will."
