(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Israeli Governemnt is due to hold its regular weekly meeting at the ancient Dawood Mosque located at Bab Al-Khalil district close to the historic fence of Jerusalem later on Sunday.

The session will be held in a ceremonial manner at the mosque that had been transformed by the Israeli authorities into a museum, named by Tel Aviv the Museum of King David, Israel Radio said, citing government sources.

The ceremony marks the 44th anniversary of Israel's takeover of East Jerusalem, including the ancient Al-Aqsa Mosque, the radio said, indicating that "a new judaization scheme" of the city of Jerusalem would be adopted during the session.

The government, according to the new plan, will earmark USD 100 million to cover expenses of "Judaization projects" in the city in the coming five years, the radio said, apparently alluding to plans to construct new residential units for Jews.

The radio station indicated that the new plan envisages projects for promotion of tourism and financing construction of sites near the western wall of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Al-Aqsa Foundation for Waqf and Heritage said in a statement israel is implementing a scheme for full-scale judaization of the city and altering the city Arab and islamic features and identity.

The foundation condemned the Tel Aviv cabinet plan to hold the session at the historic site to mark what the Israelis call "the liberation of Jerusalem." The Israeli Government is seeking to force the Palestinians out of Jerusalem and drive them out of their lands and houses in the city, it said.
