(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Hamas criticised what US president Barak Obama had to say with regard to the Palestine issue during his speech on Thursday and described it as “blatantly biased in favour of the Zionist occupation at the expense of Palestinian national rights.”

The movement said in a written statement on Friday that Obama’s speech was a reinforcement of double standards politics when “he talked about people’s right to freedom and dignity but ignored Palestinian rights and at the same time stressed his commitment to security of the Zionist entity as a ‘Jewish state’ which encourages the occupation to commit more crimes against the Palestinian people and reinforces Israeli ethnic cleansing policies in the 1948-occupied Palestinian lands.”

The movement added that Obama’s speech had nothing new regarding the Palestine issue, but a mere emphasis on the US classic stand which is biased to occupation which only “reinforces the credibility of the movement’s position which stressed on numerous occasions the absurdity of negotiations with the occupation and the illusion of counting on Washington.”

Hamas further stressed on the importance of the national reconciliation which was achieved lately, putting the Palestinian house in order and expediting the implementation of the agreement in order to unite the Palestinian people in the face of the challenges and the Zionist arrogance on the basis of the Palestinian national constants and the right of Palestinians to resist the occupation in any form.
