(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Grand Shia Cleric, Makarem Shiarazi, warned against deviation in Qur'anic studies demanding serious attention to be paid to Qur'an itself.

Senior cleric and jurisprudent, Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi hailed the attention to recitation and memorization of the holy Qur'an and demanded that the efforts should not hinder pondering on meanings of Qur'an which is the main aim.

He called pondering on Qur'an as a priority to practice of the teachings of the holy book of Islam and said, "The end of all these efforts is to practice the guidelines of Qur'an."

Referring to a quote by Imam Ali (AS), he likened Qur'an to a sea whose depth can never be understood.

He called the holy book of Islam as a source with different foods for thought and assimilated that to a medication without the least side effects.
