Iranian President, Dr Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has said the policies of the hegemonic powers which aim to thwart Iran's progress have all failed.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - In a meeting on Thursday with tribal elders, leaders of ethnic groups and prominent figures of Sistan Balouchestan province in south eastern Iran, President Ahmadinejad emphasized that Iran's enemies are simply incapable of subjugating or controlling Iranian thought and civilization.

Talking about the reasons why the hegemonic powers want to restrict or subjugate Iran, President Ahmadinejad said: "If Iran continues to steadily move forward, taking firm steps towards advancement and progress, all Muslims will be saved, and there will simply be no opportunity for the hegemonic powers to remain in this region".

In further remarks, President Ahmadinejad pointed to the long history of US government hostility towards Iran, and stressed that the enemies want to keep Iran backwards, they want to stop Iran's progress, since an advanced and industrialized Iran, with its head held high, will undoubtedly awaken other regional nations.

President Ahmadinejad said one of the reasons why the enemies plots and schemes against Islam and the Islamic revolution have all failed is the vigilance and alertness of tribal leaders, religious leaders and the people of Sistan Balouchestan province.

President Ahmadinejad pointedly added: "The aim of the enemy in carrying out terrorist attacks in Sistan Balouchestan was to divide and cause rifts among the people, but the vigilance of the people of Sistan Balouchestan effectively scuppered the conspiracies of the enemies".
