(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Lebanese resistance movement's Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem said, "The Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) is an American assault on Lebanon's strength and resistance.”
Hariri was killed along with more than 20 others in a massive car bombing in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, on February 14, 2005.
Washington-sponsored tribunal was established about two years later to investigate the incident.
In an August public address, Hezbollah's Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah presented evidence proving that Israel had masterminded Hariri's assassination.
However, The court reportedly plans to indict some Hezbollah members in the incident -- an allegation the resistance movement has fiercely rejected -- and the United States has been applying pressure to block any challenge to the planned ruling.
Qassem said that US efforts are aimed at rendering Lebanon ”unable to confront the Israeli project."
