DAMASCUS (Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Syrian foreign minister Walid Al-Moalem has described the latest US veto at the UN Security Council aborting a resolution condemning Israeli settlement activity in the occupied Palestinian land as "shameful".
Moalem in statements published by the Syrian Watan newspaper on Monday said that the US condemns settlement activity in the occupied land but when it comes to UN resolutions it sides with Israel.
He also warned of the inter-Palestinian division and racing behind the peace mirage while ignoring the points of strength in the Palestinian issue.
The Syrian chief diplomat asserted the importance of convening the Arab summit as scheduled in Iraq, adding that it would be an opportunity for the Arab leaders to study Arab conditions and means of reforms.
