BRUSSELS (Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Palestinian communities in Europe have made it clear on Thursday that all Palestinian people in occupied Palestine and in the diaspora should participate in any upcoming Palestinian elections, rejecting the PLO's call to confine it in Gaza Strip and the West Bank only.

In a statement they issued and signed by nearly 26 Palestinian organizations and unions across Europe, and a copy of which was obtained by the Quds Press, the Palestinian communities asserted "Despite the illegitimacy and the lack of transparency and honesty of those calling for an election in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, we believe that such calls don’t meet what the entire Palestinian people aspire to and called for of unity, common destiny, and the building of the Palestinian political home on democratic bases, and the organizing of elections in which all Palestinian people wherever they are should be given the right to vote".

They added that any Palestinian regime that divides the Palestinian people and isolates big numbers of them from the decision-making process couldn’t be given the legitimacy.

They also stressed the urgency of organizing comprehensive Palestinian elections, underscoring that the Palestinian people are capable to carryout their national obligation, to form their presence, and to design their national future.
