Chief of the Council of Muftis in Russia lauded the status of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Islamic world as important.

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Chief of the Council of Muftis in Russia, Sheikh Ravil Eyn-oddin, in a meeting with Mehdi Sana'i, chief of the group of parliament friendship between Iran and Russia on Friday in Moscow stressed on the lofty position of Iran in the Islamic world saying: "Every year, Russian Muslims following Iran's Islamic Revolution and Imam Khomeini's guidelines hold the ritual of Quds Day."

Chief of the Council of Muftis in Russia also stated: "Bilateral cooperation with the World Assembly for Proximity of Islamic Denominations, Iran's cultural aide in Russia, and other religious and Islamic organizations have played an important role in promoting Islam in Russia."

Sheikh Ravil Eyn-oddin also said: "At present, 20 million Muslims are living in Russia and their interest in deepening of religious and Islamic conceptions is growing day by day."

In his turn, chief of the group of parliament friendship between Iran and Russia lauded the activities of the Council of Muftis in Russia as valuable. Condemning the terrorist operations in Moscow international airport, Sana'i said: "Islam opposes anti-human acts and that such acts should not lead to Islamophobia in Russia."
