The Jeddah-based organisation said in a statement that 'it is following with concern the ongoing events in Tunisia.'
'The OIC hopes that Tunisia would overcome these events through solidarity and unity of its people and their aspirations for enhancing democracy and good governance in accordance with the country's constitutional and legal systems,' it added.
The OIC is a grouping of countries with large Muslim populations set up to 'protect the interests of the Muslim world in the spirit of promoting international peace and harmony.'
