Gaza documents 5,989 Israeli ceasefire violations since truce took effect

The Government Media Office (GMO) in Gaza said it has documented 5,989 Israeli violations since the ceasefire took effect last year, including 753 recorded in October, alongside ongoing restrictions on aid, fuel shipments, and travel through the Rafah border crossing.

ABNA24 - The Government Media Office (GMO) in Gaza said it has documented 5,989 Israeli violations since the ceasefire took effect last year, including 753 recorded in October, alongside ongoing restrictions on aid, fuel shipments, and travel through the Rafah border crossing.

In a statement on Monday, GMO said that these ceasefire violations resulted in the killing of 1,593 Palestinians, the injury of 5,748 others, and the kidnaping of 217 people.

According to the statement, the average number of violations during October stood at 24.3 per day, including 346 shooting incidents, 310 strikes, 64 home demolitions, 21 military incursions, and 12 arrests.

GMO noted that 145 Palestinians were killed during the reporting month, including 21 children, 14 women, and two elderly people, while 672 others were injured, among them 182 children, 129 women, and 30 elderly people. Children, women, and the elderly accounted for nearly half of all those injured during October.

As for the humanitarian situation, GMO reported that 3,777 aid trucks entered Gaza during October, just 20.3 percent of the 18,600 trucks stipulated under the agreement. This represents a daily average of roughly 122 trucks, a fraction of the 600 trucks per day set as part of the truce arrangements.

Addressing Israeli travel restrictions, GMO recorded 802 passenger movements in both directions across 21 working days in October, just 19.1 percent of the 4,200 travelers who were supposed to cross under the agreement.

GMO strongly condemned what it called “Israel’s deadly policy” and its “systematic strangulation” of Gaza’s defenseless population, stressing that such practices constitute a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.
