IRI Ambassador and Permanent Envoy to the Vienna-based International Organizations, Ali-Asghar Soltanieh, here on Wednesday condemned Zionist regime’s crimes in the Palestinian occupied territories.

According to Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), IRI Ambassador and Permanent Envoy to the Vienna-based International Organizations, Ali-Asghar Soltanieh, here on Wednesday condemned Zionist regime’s crimes in the Palestinian occupied territories.

Addressing the United Nations Seminar on Assistance to the Palestinian People at the United Nations Office at Vienna (March 24-25), Soltanieh said Palestine issue is not only a mere conflict between Arab states of the region and Israel, rather it is a global concern.

He said the international community should without any hesitation take a prompt action to restore rights of Palestinians, who have been deprived of their most basic rights since the past six decades.

He added that the Zionist regime has, by ignoring all the international regulations and violating provisions of resolutions of the UN and other organizations, continued committing grave offenses.

He noted that the Zionist regime ignored the report of Judge Goldstone who has explicitly condemned war crimes and crimes against humanity of the regime.

He added that the Zionist regime continues its crimes of bombarding and massacring innocent women and children, causing horror and intimidation, and blockade and construction of illegal settlements.

The Iranian envoy said that undoubtedly, such crimes have been intensified under constant support of certain western states, the US in particular.

The US State Secretary Hillary Clinton’s claims in the two-day meeting of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPC) on March 22 are a testimony to that, he added.

He referred to parts of Clinton’s claims of materialization of the dream of the Jewish land, and said the US official stances at the AIPC indicates lack of political will in the US to regain legitimate rights of Palestinians.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran wants a principled and lasting solution to the Palestine problem and to this end it has proposed holding a democratic referendum participated by Muslims, Christians and Jews in occupied Palestine and deciding a government based on democracy and equality of rights,” he added.

To the end of his address, Soltanieh said despite lapse of more than one year from Zionist regime’s brutal Gaza invasion, regional people are living under the worst possible conditions.
